About the Film

An American Storyteller: The Art of Arnold Friberg is a compelling documentary exploring the life, faith and legacy of one of the most iconic artists of the 20th century. From his revered portrait of George Washington, The Prayer at Valley Forge, to his unforgettable biblical scenes and other defining works, Arnold Friberg’s art has stirred hearts and helped shape American identity.

“I try with my pictures to leave something of worth … So I only ask of my pictures, have I been worthy? Are the pictures worthy of those great themes sometimes written for us 3,000 years ago? Are the pictures worthy? Are they clear? Are they strong and simple and honest and true? Are they worthy to be laid upon the altar of God?”
